JANUARY VARIETY
La Paz – Las Arenas/ Muertos Bay / Suenos Bay Fishing Report for Week of January 14-21, 2018
Still not too many folks fishing right now, but even with the breezy weather, there’s been some great variety of fish. All of our fishing is being done right now out’ve Bahia de los Muertos where it’s more protected and the fishing is closer to shore. Waters seemed to get a little cooler and that reflected in the type of species that showed up this past week.
A lot more sierra than we’ve seen in a while with some nice-sized fish up to about 5 pounds eating over the drop-offs and reefs. Additionally, some good sized pargo, cabrilla and snapper were taken but in those same areas, there’s some smaller-school-sized firecracker yellowtail running about 10 pounds. Over more open water, but still close to shore, there’s schools of bonito and jacks plus some free-swimming dorado still around all making for some great mixed boxes of fish.
GREY WHALES HAVE ARRIVED!
The annual visit from the Gray Whales has started and the whales are arriving daily at Bahia Magdalena where they’ll hang out in the warm calm waters until about March. Great family trip of a lifetime. We’re running daily tours! Contact us and we’ll set up the whole package!
THANKS SACRAMENTO – HERE WE COME WASHINGTON!
