Our Captain Adolfo was out just outside of Muertos. Dropped a mackerel and caught the nice little yellowtail. So, he then put down a Rapala and immediately got whacked by the wahoo right up close to the rocks!
Bonus for Paul Melewski from Colorado staying in Muertos Bay at Rancho Costa. Goes out for snapper over the rocks and pops a pair of dorado…in January!

La Paz – Las Arenas/ Muertos Bay / Suenos Bay Fishing Report for Week of Jan. 7-14, 2018
Not many folks fishing this week which is pretty typical now that the holidays are over. Most of the holiday visitors have left and town is pretty mellow again, not that it was ever very bustling. But, by the same token, not many folks fishing either. Too bad because it was actually a pretty decent week for weather and the few trips we had out all resulted in some surprising fish.
There were the usual jacks and snapper, but also in those same spots close to shore and over the rocks we got yellowtail and wahoo. In the bay, there’s still some dorado cruising around too.
THANKS DENVER – ONWARD TO SACRAMENTO
Thanks to everyone who came to visit us in Denver. The ISE show at the Denver Convention Center was massive. Great turnout and great to have so many of you booking to come visit us in La Paz this year. Apologies if I personally missed you as I was out 2 1/2 days from the booth with a fever, no voice and an upper respiratory infection! But, Jill did a stellar job, as she always does and I’m mo’ bettah now! Thanks for understanding!
So, we’re on the road now with our van loaded and driving through the snow to get form Colorado to California to set up at the ISE show at the California Fairgrounds in Sacramento. This is the largest hunting/ fishing show in N. California and a huge event for the whole family. Come see us. We’ll have the booth in the usual spot. Show runs Thursday to Sunday.
